What This Calculator Does
The Thai Tax Calculator is a free tool designed to help individuals living and working in Thailand estimate their personal income tax liability and understand what they owe — or may get back — at the end of the tax year.
It supports four employment types commonly found among expats, freelancers, and local residents:
- Salaried employees — employed full-time under a Thai employment contract
- Freelancers and self-employed individuals — earning income from multiple clients or sources
- Sole proprietors — running a registered business under their own name
- Company owners and directors — drawing a salary and/or dividends from a Thai company

The Two Calculators
Annual Tax Calculator
This is the main tool. It walks you through a step-by-step form to calculate your total tax liability for a full calendar year. The questions cover:
- Your employment type and total annual income
- Marital status and spouse income
- Dependents (children, parents, elderly relatives)
- Deductions you're entitled to claim — including life and health insurance premiums, social security contributions, provident fund or RMF/SSF contributions, and charitable donations
- Tax already withheld from your salary or invoices throughout the year
- For freelancers and non-residents: foreign income, tax residency, and any applicable double tax agreements
At the end, you'll see a full breakdown of your taxable income, applicable deductions, tax bracket calculations, total tax owed, and whether you're due a refund or have a remaining balance to pay.
Monthly Withholding Estimator
This lighter tool helps you check whether the right amount of tax is being deducted from your monthly paycheck. It's useful for:
- Verifying your employer's withholding is correct
- Estimating the impact of a salary change or bonus on your monthly tax
- Planning your cash flow throughout the year
It supports both fixed monthly salaries and variable income, and accounts for bonuses and other payments.
